That framing about things not stopping work but just stopping feeling right really cuts through the noise. I've noticed this same pattern when I've tried to push through misalignment, the output doesnt necessarily tank but the effort starts feeling heavier. The café review without spreadsheets is such a simple but powerful move. Last year I tried doing something similiar with just handwritten notes, and it surfaced stuff that structured goal-setting completely missed. The Reid Hoffman quote ties in well too, recalibration isnt a setback, it's data.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. We're so trained to do everything on screens and keyboards now, and that's somehow making us lose our ability to connect with ourselves. So simple practices like handwritten notes can be incredibly powerful.
