Often, we're too close to our issues.
Much like examining a tree up close and seeing only imperfections.
✏️ ON MY MIND
On one of my morning walks last week, I came across a park I usually don't visit. It gave me insight into perspective.
We can get stuck focusing on problems like money, relationships, work, or creativity blocks. We're zoomed in on the issue.
So there I was, standing in this park, and I noticed a HUGE tree. So I walked up close to its trunk.
Up close, like practically kissing it, it looked ugly and old, with broken pieces and holes.
I stepped back and saw the trunk, roots, and branches.
After more steps back, I saw the full tree with its magnificent root structure and decades of growth. The branches reached into the sky with leaves sprouting.
Taking ten steps back revealed the tree's full majesty, branching over the park and connecting with another tree to form a canopy over the footpath.
How stunning, right?
This reminded me of how we view our challenges.
Sometimes, we must step back and see the bigger picture or ask someone else for their perspective.
Got a challenge that you’re struggling with currently?
Try giving yourself some space to see the bigger picture.
You may find that something that looks ugly and messy up close is, in fact, a piece of something bigger and much more beautiful.

👍 3 THINGS THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION
1/ Read: How metaphors work to persuade
Did you know a well-placed metaphor can significantly impact your marketing? This Stanford research reveals that metaphors in descriptions can steer the solutions people propose. Take crime; dubbed a "wild beast," people bark for tougher laws, while a "virus" metaphor ushers in calls for social reform.
Here's your takeaway: slide that metaphor early in your pitch or materials. It's not just about spicing up your narrative. It's a stealthy steer toward the reactions you desire.
